(May 31/10) CRFA and Alberta’s foodservice industry have been formally invited to participate in the province’s minimum wage policy review.
Earlier this year, Alberta froze its minimum wage for 2010 and announced a minimum wage policy review would occur. In a follow-up meeting, CRFA thanked Employment and Immigration Minister Thomas Lukaszuk for these actions and reiterated the need for minimum wage stability, adequate notice of increases, and the introduction of training wage and gratuity differentials. The Minister encouraged CRFA and the industry to share its views with the reviewing body – the Standing Committee on the Economy – when the minimum wage review begins.
